The J.B. Lyle Choral Festival is
ETVA's annual adjudicated festival. The event is
scheduled this year for February 24-27, 2009. Participation in
this festival is open to all ETVA members' high
school choirs grades 9-12. Choirs may perform for
comments only or for rating. Choirs earning a
superior rating at JB Lyle will be invited to
participate in the ACDA State Choral Festival.All
Choirs performing in JB Lyle must perform three
contrasting pieces representing at least two style
periods. At least two of the selected pieces must
come from the approved music lists. Compositions not
on the list may be submitted to Dr. Kevin Ford for
approval no later than January 15. Original copies
should be sent by US mail to Dr. Ford with a
self-addressed, stamped envelope for return.
Directors are expected to select quality music for
their performances - no popular music or show tunes
