The All East/All State auditions are held each year the first Saturday in October. The auditioning students prepare two of three selections chosen by the Executive Board from the current year's All East literature. Students auditioning to be an accompanist prepare two or three selections chosen by the Executive Board from the current year's All East literature which may or may not be the same as the vocal audition pieces.
Registration generally opens around the first week of September and lasts for two weeks. Schools may register up to twenty students as singers and and an unlimited number of students as accompanists. Students who have school-related event conflicts may apply for an early or late audition time. Teachers must submit the request form prior to registration deadline and the Executive Board will rule on each request. Requests that are granted will be honored in the order in which they were received.
All teachers with auditioning students are expected to be work the auditions. Requests for absence must be approved IN ADVANCE by the Executive Board. Failure to work could result in disqualification of your students. The auditions day begins at 8:30 AM and can last as long as 5:00 PM or later.
