REQUIREMENT FOR STUDENTS - DIRECTORS PLEASE NOTICE

  1. Attendance is required for the entire duration of all rehearsals. The Discipline Committee must approve any exception to this regulation. The only exception to this rule is football players whose teams are playing in the playoffs may ask the Executive Board to approve their missing all or part of the Friday afternoon rehearsal only to allow them to play in the game. The Executive Board may grant or refuse the request based on the distance to and time of the game in question and the position the student plays on the team.
  2. The door to the rehearsal room will be closed promptly at the beginning of each rehearsal. Any late student must present to the Discipline Committee his/her excuse for being tardy. Students with unacceptable excuses will be eliminated from the chorus. (Please plan for traffic and breakfast on and Friday and Saturday.)
  3. The Discipline Committee will render decisions on all problems relating to student behavior.
  4. Rehearsals will begin on the hour or the half-hour. Students should be in seats 10 minutes prior to the rehearsal start time for roll call and announcements. (On the current schedule, the time given is the time students must be in their seats for roll call, for example, the first rehearsal time is 6:50. This means students should be in their seat at 6:50 for roll call, and the rehearsal will begin at 7:00)
  5. Exercise self-discipline. No talking during rehearsal. Students should not be reading, sleeping, or involved in other activities during rehearsal.
  6. Students must participate and have an exemplary record of attendance and conduct in an All-East Tennessee Chorus to be eligible for All-State Chorus.
  7. Students should bring music folders, music with measures numbered, and a pencil to rehearsals.
  8. No food, drink, or gum will be permitted in the building. No smoking is permitted at any time. Help keep the building clean.
